In the year 1947, Bernie Leadon took birth in Minnesota, Minneapolis. He had ten siblings, and his parents, Dr. Bernard Leadon Jr. and Anna Teresa, were Roman Catholics who were devoted to their religion. Dr. Bernard Leadon Jr. was a nuclear physicist and an aerospace engineer, and it was due to his career that the whole family had to move to the USA. From an early age, Bernie Leadon was very keen on bluegrass and folk music, and he grew to be a master of the 5-string banjo, acoustic guitar, and mandolin.
Later he moved to San Diego. This is where he met musicians, Ed Douglas, and Larry Murray. This music duo had a local bluegrass outfit known as the Scottsville Squirrel Barkers, and they later asked Leadon to join their group. Again he had to move with his family to Florida. He attended the Gainesville High school, and it was here where he met Don Felder with whom he eventually started “the Eagles.”
Primarily, Don Felder had his own band, the Continentals, and they had lost their guitarist. This gave an opportunity to Bernie Leadon to join the group. They did some awesome local gigs. Later, Larry Murray called Leadon to join a country-folk group, which made him move to California, where he became involved with the country/folk-rock scene. Bernie Leadon also recorded one album with the band.

Yes an obveous misake good thoughts for a great man. I used to work with his sister(Mary Theresa)in Orlando many years ago with his sister as real estate appraisers b4 her passing. She was very proud of her heritage including Bernie and Tommy. The family including the 9 not mentioned had/has amazing lives and spirit and strived hard to achive their respective goals.I lived in Gainsville 1975-1980 and listened to hang with The Dixie Desperatos since i was roomates with their origional drummer Steve RIP 2004.
