On June 2, 1970, Louis Freese was born to a Mexican father and a Cuban mother. He later moved with his sister and mother out of his father’s house to south gate California at the age of five and later moved to the small town of Bell, California. B real attended bell high school; however, he dropped out and joined the cypress hill members, Sen Dog and Mellow Man Ace, but the two left the group later and went solo.

B real was short at the age of 17 in a gang-related shooting, and his lung was punctured. He was later introduced to Dj Mugs by Julio G the KDAY Mixmaster, he and Sen gained interest in mugs concept of an album based on experiences from Cypress Ave in South Gate.
