Ingram was born in Richmond, Virginia, on November 19, 1985. He had a massive interest in basketball from a very early age in life, and he became so good at basketball that he started beating his elder brother in it.

He was a student of the Highland Springs High School, Virginia. The school team participated in the Group AAA championship in 2002-03 where Ingram himself led the team. He was chosen as the Associated Press Group AAA Player of the Year for his division in the championship.

During his entire high school career, he was the Capital District Player of the Year twice as well as First Team All-State and First-Team All-Central Region pick in his senior years.

After high school, he joined the American University. He also became the first American player to be named the Patriot League Freshman of the Year. His career as a basketball player began on November 1, 2007, when he was selected for the seventh round of the 2007 NBA Development League Draft. The Utah Flash chose him. He stayed with the Flash for four years.

He scored 2,098 points in the season and was named as the all-time leading scorer of Utah Flash. But Ingram was left without a team when Utah suspended their operations for the 2010-11 season.

Then Ingram was selected by the Los Angeles D-Fenders on March 22, 2012, for the 2011-12 season. Any team did not recruit him for the 2012-13 season, but in the 2013-14 season, he played again as a member of the D-Fenders. He got the chance to play for D-Fenders only for the first two months of the 2014-15 season.
