Agneta Åse Fältskog was born on 5 April 1950 in Jönköping, Småland, Sweden to her parents Knut Ingvar Fältskog and Birgit Margareta Johansson. Her father was a department store manager while her mother was a homemaker. She has a younger sister, Mona, who was born in 1955.

Fältskog has been interested in music since childhood, and at the age of six, she wrote her first song, “Två små troll.” She started taking piano lessons and sang in a local church choir. Along with her friends Lena Johansson and Elisabeth Strub, she formed a musical trio named, The Chambers. When Fältskog was 15 years old, she left school to pursue a career in music.

Her next studio album, Eyes Of A Woman, was released in 1985, which reached number six in Sweden, and number 18 in the Netherlands. Later, in 2004, Fältskog released the single “If I Thought You’d Ever Change Your Mind,” which peaked at No. 2 in Sweden and became Fältskog’s highest charting UK single to date, reaching No.11. At that time, she released the album My Colouring Book, which consists of Fältskog’s covers of 1960s classic oldies. The single from the album “When You Walk in the Room” peaked at No.11 in Sweden.
