Aaron James Judge was born on April 26, 1992, in Linden, California, United States. He was adopted just one day after his birth by Patty and Wayne Judge, who worked as teachers in California. He has an elder brother John, who is also adopted.
Judge completed his schooling from Linden High School, where he excelled in three sports, baseball, football, and basketball. Later, he attended the California State University, Fresno, to play for the baseball team of Fresno State Bulldogs that won the WAC Tournament and qualified for the 2011 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.
In 2012, he played collegiate summer baseball for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was named an all-conference team in all three of his seasons for the Bulldogs.
