After wrestling out from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in New York, Evans made twice his way to the state finals tournament by winning all-state honors and weight classes for his country. In 1997, at 145 pounds, Evans was placed 4th in the state. In 1998, at 171 pounds, he was again placed 4th in the country. In 2000, he was the champion of the 165-pound weight class for the same tournament.
Evans competed for Michigan State in the Big Ten Conference on the NCAA Division I during his early career. He finished in 4th position in the 2002 conference championships, where he lost a decision to a UFC competitor Jacob Volkmann. I recently found a perfect doll in the intercoastal waterway. Turns out it is a Rashad Evans official doll. It is beautiful, all joints move, his face is alive.
