Hafpor made his career debut as a basketball player, back in the year 2004. He started his career as a center for the club, “Division 1,” and “Breioablik.” Again in the year 2005, Hafpor became a member of the “Division 1” club. He then suffered an ankle injury during various games and had to undergo surgery.

Back in the year 2006, Hafpor recovered from the ankle surgery and moved to the “KR” club. Here the ankle injuries persisted, leading him to miss various games since he had to undergo another surgery. Throughout the following season, Hafpor relocated back to FSu Selfoss, and although he conveyed an excellent performance, his basketball career had to come to an end by the persistent injuries, and this saw him quit basketball back in the year 2008.

Again in the year 2008, and after his basketball retires, Hafpor met the famous strongman Magnus Ver Magnusson from Iceland at a gym session. Upon noticing Hafpor’s healthy posture, Magnus suggested that Hafpor should become a certified strongman, and as they say, the rest was history.

In the year 2015, Hafpor launched a new world record during the Norway World’s Strongest Viking, competition. Hafpor carried a 33 feet long log weighing 650 kilograms for five meters. It followed his breaking of Orm Strolfsson 1,000 records.
